I'm a great believer in goals. I think that they are an essential part of life and that if you haven't set yourself a goal, any goal, then you aren't living your life to its fullest (feel free to dispute that claim in the comments!).
My goal up until now has been to travel to Japan. I'm about to fulfil that, so it's time to think of some new things to aim towards!
Specifically, these goals will be things that I hope to achieve during my stay in Japan. Some are almost a given, some may be a little odd and some may seem impossible, but I'll write them all down just the same.
My goals for 2009-2010:
- Become ペラペラ in Japanese. (if you don't know what that means, look it up!)
- Attend a Tohoshinki concert, preferably at Tokyo Dome, with Jaejoong Sweat Seats!
- Visit my friends in Japan, particularly those outside of Tokyo (Yuri in Nagoya and Izumi and Pei in Osaka)
- Visit the super-awesome life-sized Gundam.
- Stumble upon an unassumingly awesome bar behind a non-descript, heavy door.
- Attend the Tokyo Game Show.
- Attend the Tokyo Motor Show.
- Go skiing (perhaps!).
- Play some Yukigassen?
- Have a photo taken with those crazy Harajuku-types.
- Stumble upon a street-racing scene or Touge event.
- Learn to cook and clean for myself.
- Update this blog once a week (yikes!)
- Get some Tohoshinki signatures at a fan-signing event.
- Somehow appear on Japanese television.
- Convince someone to let me drive a GT-R (this is definitely in the 'impossible' category!)
12 days to go...

It's less than three weeks until I depart, and that feeling is starting to come over me. You know, the feeling that you get a couple of days before a really awesome game that you've been looking forward to for a long time is released.
You've read every scrap of information about it, talked to your friends and family about it and pre-ordered the ultimate special edition of it. And now all you can do is wait.
Every other game just seems, well, boring. It doesn't have special feature X, and the graphics look quite dated compared to the Youtube-HD clips you've been watching. Even though there are a bunch of great games on your shelf left unplayed, you don't want to play them. Hurry up and arrive already, new game!
PS: The blogs title comes from here.
PPS: I know that was confusing.
PPPS: In other news, I made pasta for lunch!

That time has come at last - I have finally received confirmation that I have been accepted to Waseda University as an exchange student!
No more will I have to check my emails every couple of hours in the vain hope that the elusive email has arrived (although old habits die hard). No more will I have to bug the poor exchange people at the University every few weeks (somehow I think I will rid myself of this habit much more easily).
Now I need to start preparing everything for my exchange. That means picking up my acceptance bundle from the Uni, then booking airline tickets, organising a visa, working out classes, accommodation, and the like. It'll probably be a long and busy process, but anything is better than just sitting and waiting and checking Gmail Notifier!
In other news, I have finished all of my classes for the semester, and all that remain are a pesky essay and a few exams.
PS: Those of you new to this blog, welcome! Please either bookmark me or (preferably) subscribe to this blog's RSS feed. It's an easy way of keeping track of when I update this blog. If you don't know how to do that, take a look here.
PPS: I've now added an easier way to keep in touch. All you have to do is put your email address into the little box on the right -----> and you'll receive an email when my blog is updated.
Thanks!
